An Ecological Discourse Analysis of The Overstory from the Perspective of Transitivity System

In the context of the increasingly serious global environmental problems, ecological problems have become a hot research topic in various disciplines, which has aroused close attention among linguists. Ecolinguistics is a discipline that studies language based on ecological principles under the guidance of ecological philosophy, including the study of the relationship between the world language system and the environment, as well as the study of the relationship between the language system itself, the phenomenon of language use and the environment. As a representative work of natural literature, The Overstory contains rich ecological thoughts. Therefore, this study analyzes the ecological discourse of The Overstory, in order to explore a different perspective for the study of ecological consciousness in natural literature works, and also provide a certain reference for the writing of ecological discourse.

在全球环境问题日益严重的大背景下，生态问题已然成为各学科领域的热门研究课题，语言学家也对这些问题给予密切关注。生态语言学是一门在生态哲学观的指导下，基于生态学原理对语言进行研究的学科，包括对世界语言系统与环境之间关系的研究，以及语言系统本身、语言使用现象与环境之间关系的研究。作为自然文学的代表作品，《上层林冠》中蕴含着丰富的生态思想。基于此，本研究对《上层林冠》进行生态话语分析，以期为自然文学作品的生态意识研究提供不同的视角，同时本研究也可以为生态语篇的写作提供一定的参考。
