Concept-Based Curriculum and Instruction is one of the theoretical sources in the West of Big-Idea English teaching method. These two theories and teaching patterns have common in the purpose and the key notions and in the theoretical structure, the definition of the nature of English as a subject, the teaching design procedures, and the way of cultivating students’ core qualities, they are different. A comparative study of these two English teaching theories and patterns proves that Concept-Based Curriculum and Instruction can offer inspiration to the development of Big-Idea English teaching method.
“以概念为本”的课程建设和教学模式是我国基于“大观念”的英语教学理论和模式的西方渊源之一。这两种教学理论和模式在创立主旨和核心理念上有共同点,同时,在理论架构、学科本质界定、理论实践应用方式和核心素养培育方面又存在差异。对这两种英语教学理论和模式进行对比分析后发现,“以概念为本”的理论和模式可以为发展中的“大观念”理论和模式提供借鉴,促进其完善。
