The Effects of Child Care Teachers' Positive Psychological Capital and Organizational Commitment on Teacher-Child Interaction

Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of child care teachers’ positive psychological capital and organizational commitment on teacher-young infant interaction. Methods: The subjects of this study were 740 in-service teachers working at child care centers in J province, and data for the study were collected by using a questionnaire. The collected data were processed using SPSS Statistics 25.0 for Windows, and frequency analysis, Pearson productmoment correlation analysis, and regression analysis were conducted. Results: As a result of examining child care teachers’ level of awareness regarding positive psychological capital, organizational com- mitment, and teacher-child interaction, it was found that their level of awareness for all three variables are at moderate levels and above. It was also found that child care teachers’ positive psychological capital, organizational commitment, and teacher-child interaction have close positive correlations. Conclusion: It was confirmed that child care teachers’ positive psychological capital and organizational commitment influences teacher-child interaction and that positive psychological capital is the most important variable that influences teacherchild interaction.
