재난 과정에 관련된 국내 언론의 재난 보도 양상

A Study on the Disaster Report Pattern of the Domestic Media Related to the Disater Process

본 연구의 목적은 국내 언론의 보도 양상에서 재난이 진행되고 복구되는 일련의 과정을 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 언론재단의 빅데이터 분석 툴인 빅카인즈를 활용하여 2015년부터 2021년까지 재난에 대한언론 보도 양상을 종합적으로 분석했다. 또한, 재난 보도 과정과 관련하여 일간지 기자, 재난연구 학자등을 포함한 재난 관련 전문가들에 대한 심층 인터뷰를 시행하여 전문가 인식을 살펴보았다. 분석 결과는다음과 같이 나타났다. ‘재난’이 포함된 기사는 2015년부터 2021년까지 7년간 총 23,189건의 기사가검색되었으며, 세부적으로는 ‘대응’ 단어를 포함한 재난 기사가 가장 많이 검색되었으며, ‘복구’ 키워드를포함한 재난 기사가 가장 적게 나타났다. 또한, 질적 분석에서는 속보 경쟁으로 재난 이후 ‘사건’ 중심의보도가 많았으며, 재난 현장을 취재할 숙련된 전문 기자가 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는언론의 재난 보도 양상에 시사점을 던진다.

The purpose of this study is to examine a series of processes in which disasters proceed and recover from the aspect of domestic media coverage. To this end, the media coverage of disasters from 2015 to 2021 was analyzed. In addition, in-depth interviews with experts related to the disaster reporting process were conducted to examine the perceptions of experts. The analysis results were as follows. For articles containing 'disaster', a total of 23,189 articles were searched for 7 years from 2015 to 2021, disaster articles including the word 'response' were searched the most, and disaster articles including the keyword 'recovery' were the least. In addition, in the qualitative analysis, due to competition for breaking news, there were many reports centered on 'events' after the disaster, and there was a lack of skilled professional reporters to cover the disaster scene. The results of this study have implications for the aspect of disaster reporting in the media.
