Fire Load of Combustibles in Studio-type Housing

Fire Load of Combustibles in Studio-type Housing

DOI : 10.7731/KIFSE.bb6eac86

The purpose of this study was to determine the fire load values for small-scale housing, specifically studio-type and small-type housing, and to gather fundamental data for fire safety design. To achieve this, we employed fire load-related theories from existing literature and previous studies, conducted a survey on the area and space of small-scale housing, and collected empirical data on the fire load of such housing. Additionally, through real-scale fire experiments, we determined the heat of combustion for furniture and electrical appliances. These experimental results were then compared with theoretical fire load values and empirical data to establish the fire load values of combustibles in small-scale housing. By comparing the empirical data with the results from real-scale experiments, we derived conclusions about the characteristics of areas based on the spatial configuration and compartments of small-scale housing, as well as the methods for inferring the heat of combustion and fire load of combustibles in these settings.
