The Influence of Family-Friendly Organizational Culture on Happiness of Fathers in Pregnancy: The Mediating Effect of Work-Family Conflict and Marital Relationship Quality

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of family friendly organizational culture on happiness of fathers in pregnancy through work-family conflict and marital quality. A self-reported survey was conducted on 338 fathers in pregnancy who participated in prenatal education program in Seoul and Gyeonggi. Data analysis was performed by Pearson correlation analysis and Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) analysis. The results were as follows: First, the family friendly organizational culture of workplace has negative effects on work-family conflicts and does not directly affect marital quality and happiness. Second, work-family conflict has negative effects on the marital quality and does not directly affect the happiness. Third, marital quality has a direct effect on the happiness. Fourth, a partial double mediation effect of work-family conflict and marital quality was significant between family friendly organizational culture and happiness. By examining the family-friendly organizational culture, it is meaningful to provide measures to reduce the obstacles to pregnancy and childbirth.
