The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of multicultural family mothers who participated in a six-week, home-visitation Respected Parents Respected Children(RPRC) parenting education program.Data were collected through the pre-, post-, follow-up interviews and conversations during parenting education with the eight participants. Giorgi’s phenomenological approach was used to analyze the in-depth meaning of the participants’ program participation experiences. As a result, six theme categories and fifteen subcategories were summarized. The six theme categories are as follows: (1) parental reality, (2) beginning of changes, (3) interconnected changes in parenting, (4) integration of changes, (5) current and future perspectives, (6) fellowship with parent educators. During the parenting education processes, the mothers experienced diverse changes in their parenting beliefs, attitudes, and skills, which led to positive parent-child relationships in the end. Fellowships with parent educators were important supporting systems throughout the change processes. All participants wanted to take part in the parenting education programs developed for their children’s next developmental stages. Continuous research is needed to provide well-structured parenting education programs that are appropriate for the needs of multicultural family mothers.
