Longitudinal Factors related to the Quality of Life among Baby Boomers: A Comparative Analysis before and after the Baby Boomer

The purpose of this study is to analyze the panel data analysis of the longitudinal factors related to the quality of life comparing baby boomers with before and after the baby boomer, and to derive social welfare implications. The subjects were 1,407 baby boomers, 1,310 before the baby boomer, and 1,513 after the baby boomer who had steadily participated in the Korea Welfare Panel Survey. Specifically, the 1st to 9th surveys (2006-2014), and their specific data were analyzed. The major findings were as follows: First, although the quality of life has been steadily improving in order of after the baby boomer, baby boomers, and before the baby boomer, the gap of quality of life has still been maintained among these generations. Second, health satisfaction was related positively to the quality of life, and both of social relation satisfaction and leisure life satisfaction were related positively to the quality of life. Implication and limitation of this study, and points to consider in future research were discussed.
