An Exploratory on Middle Manager Roles Performance Ability Recognized by Middle Managers

The purpose of this study is to recognize the abilities required to fulfil the role of middle managers. The research targets were eight middle managers working at child care centers, and data were collected through in-depth interviews. The in-depth interview was conducted based on a questionnaire, and the questionnaire was used to amend and supplement the interview. The abilities to fulfil the role of a middle manager was as follows. First, interpersonal ability appeared in human comprehension ability, leadership ability, and communication ability. Second, the conflicts control ability appeared as an emotional as an control ability, neutrality ability, and stress control ability. Third, job processing ability appeared as a classroom management ability, the ability to divide the task equally, information collection and education ability, and problem-solving ability. In theory, this study is important to provide an academic base for organizing the educational content suitable for the background of middle managers. In the study method, this study is meaningful that middle managers analyze their ability to perform their role in depth through qualitative research methods. And it is believed that this study will contribute to provide basic data for improving the performance of child care center middle managers in the future.
