A Study on Fair Parental Role Model and Parental Satisfaction of Multicultural Couples and Korean Couples

The purpose of this study is to investigate the fair parental role model and the parental satisfaction of multicultural couples and Korean couples. The subjects of this study are 56 multicultural fathers and mothers (28 couples) and 52 Korean fathers and mothers (26 couples). The results are as follows. First, the difference of the fair parental role model and parental satisfaction between the multicultural couples and Korean couples is that the multicultural couples showed more satisfaction with their spouse's parental role than the Korean couples. Second, the results of the investigation on the relation between the fair parental role model and parental satisfaction are as follows. In the case of the multicultural couples, when self-parental satisfaction was higher, the multicultural fathers and mothers showed higher satisfaction with their spouse's parental satisfaction. In the case of the Korean couples, when they had higher fair parental role model, the couples showed higher parental satisfaction. Also, when self-parental satisfaction was higher, the couples showed higher satisfaction with their spouse's parental satisfaction. Third, the results of the investigation on the effects of the fair parental role model on parental satisfaction are as follows. In the case of the multicultural couples, the fair parental role model had no effects on parental satisfaction. In the case of the Korean couples, the fair parental role model had an effect on self-parental satisfaction and their spouse's parental satisfaction.
