Objective: This study examines the influence of attention-deficit/hyperactivity on career maturity through depression among high school adolescents and high school-age out-of-school adolescents. Methods: This study used the raw data of the Korean Teenagers’ Mental Health Study and conducted a series of regression analyses with the PROCESS macro method to verify the total, mediation, and moderated mediation effects. Results: First, adolescents’ attention-deficit/hyperactivity had a negative and significant influence on career maturity. Second, adolescents’ depression partially mediated the influence of attention-deficit/hyperactivity on career maturity. Third, the mediating effect of depression was moderated between high school adolescents and high school-age out-of-school adolescents, but the direct influence was not moderated between both groups. Conclusions: Based on the findings, this study discusses how to promote the career maturity of high school-age adolescents and high school-age out-of-school adolescents by dealing with attention-deficit/hyperactivity.
