Purpose - This study sought to analyze the factors that affect the overseas market performance of venture companies. This study examines the overseas market share and overseas sales of major products based on overseas market performance, and analyzes the competitive orientation of venture companies and the impact of competitive competitiveness on overseas market performance as leading factors. Specifically, the objective of this study is to provide insights for venture companies on how to enhance their overseas marketability by analyzing four competition orientations and three competition capabilities. Design/methodology/approach - Consequently, this study conducted empirical analysis on 697 venture companies with overseas market performance among the actual survey data of venture companies. Findings - The analysis yielded several variables that significantly impact competition orientation and competitiveness. Additionally, the study identified differences in the factors affecting overseas market share and overseas sales of major products. Research implications or Originality - The findings of this study were used to suggest practical implications for overseas marketability and improvements to venture companies.
