The purpose of this study is to present sustainable growth plans for the Yeongdo(Island) Coffee Festival. The reason is that most festivals cannot be sustained and can perish or disappear in situations where they are not self-sustaining. In addition, coffee festivals are being held in abundance around cafe streets in each region recently. In this situation, there is a need to consider sustainable growth plans as the ‘Global Yeongdo Coffee Festival’, which must be competitive, may be shunned by foreign tourists even before it is established. To this end, this study took a close look at previous research and case analysis to determine ways for the festival to continue, and derived implications for sustainable growth of the Yeongdo Coffee Festival. First, it must have the basic qualities of a festival: foundation, solidarity, and culture. Second, local residents and participating companies must take the lead in promoting it, and the resulting social capital must be accumulated. Third, the original purpose of the festival must be maintained while maintaining its identity. With reference to the above implications, this study derived a sustainable growth plan for the Yeongdo Coffee Festival. As a result, first, it was suggested to encourage and foster the participation of cafes and coffee-related companies in Yeongdo-gu. Second, expansion of content related to the Yeongdo Coffee Festival and planning of differentiated programs were proposed. Third, it was proposed to hold a ‘Coffee Festival in Yeongdo Festival’ in connection with the existing festival. Fourth, the sale of ‘coffee package products’ linked to nearby tourist attractions was proposed. Fifth, the importance of sustainable promotion and development of Yeongdo's coffee specialty streets was pointed out.
