The purpose of this study is to conduct a program to improve the relationships between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law of multicultural families and examine the program’s effects. Therefore, the program to improve the relationships between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law was conducted with 11 pairs of mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law , and the program’s effects on family functions and cultural acceptance attitudes were grasped to examine its feasibility as a family program. The program was conducted for a total of 10 sessions, and family function and cultural acceptance attitude scores were compared between the experimental group and the control group before and after the program. The results show that both family function and cultural acceptance attitude scores were improved in mothers-in-law of multicultural families of the experimental group. In particular, family cohesion (a family function sub-factor) and an acceptance attitude toward another culture (a cultural acceptance attitude sub-factor) showed remarkable improvement. Therefore, suggestions were made to develop a variety of programs to improve the relationships between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law and offer a place for integration with others in the community with the aim of social integration and personal development.
