Influence of Family-of-Origin Health, Family-of-Origin Rules, and Self-Esteem on Marital Conflicts

The purpose of this study is to identify the influences of family-of-origin health, family-of-origin rules, and self-esteem on marital conflicts among married couples. A total of 90 married couples living in Seoul·Gyeonggi-province completed questionnaire on family-of-origin health, family-oforigin rules, self-esteem and marital conflicts. Cronbach’s α, t-test, correlation analysis and regression were conducted using SPSS/WIN18.0. The research findings are as follow: first, whether difference between marital conflict, depending on socio-demographic variable(Age, Education, Monthly Income). Second, whether there is difference in perception toward family-of-origin health, family-of-origin rules, self-esteem and marital conflicts between husband and wife. Third, how family-of-origin health, family-of-origin rules and self-esteem relationship marital conflicts. Fourth, how family-of-origin health, family-of-origin rules and self-esteem affect marital conflicts.
