The Correlation among the Happiness of Parents’ in Their Twenties, Demographics and Family Values

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among parents' happiness, their family values, and demographics. To fulfill this aim, this study looked into the sociodemographic difference of parents' happiness, family values and the effect of parents' happiness on family values. t-test, F-test, Scheffe’s method, correlation test, and multiple regression analysis were done for validation and the results were as follows. First, there was a statistically significant difference in the stability of the relationship, the intimacy of the couple, and the difference in personalities. There was a statistically significant difference in the need for family and the expectations for marriage. Second, the score of parents' happiness was all over average, but the score of family values was all below average. Third, the effect of the intimacy of the couple on the need for family was negative. The implications of the results of this study are as follows. To increase the marriage rate and birth rate, there will have to be different policies targeting those with a low level of education and in the low-income bracket, those with a moderate level of education and in the middle-income bracket, and those with a high education level and in the high-income bracket.
