원가족의 정서분위기, 결혼만족도 및 부모역할 자신감이 유아기 아버지의 양육참여에 미치는 영향

Effects of Emotional Climate in Family of Origin, Marital Satisfaction, and Parenting Role Competence on Father's Parenting Involvement

본 연구는 문헌고찰을 통해 세워진 이론적 모델을 바탕으로 아버지의 원가족 정서분위기, 결혼만족도, 부모역할 자신감이 어떻게 상호작용하여 자녀의 양육참여에 영향을 미치는가를 살펴보아 자녀 양육에 대한 아버지의 바람직한 참여도와 관심을 유도하고, 아버지와 유아간의 관계 증진을 도모하기 위한 방안을 탐색하고 아버지교육에 필요한 기초 자료를 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 대상은 청주시에 소재하고 있는 6개의 유치원과 4개의 어린이집을 선정하여 그 곳에 다니는 4세에서 7세 유아의 아버지 250명을 대상으로 질문지 조사를 하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 아버지의 긍정적인 원가족 정서분위기는 결혼만족도와 부모역할 자신감을 증가시키고, 이를 통해 증가된 결혼만족도와 부모역할 자신감은 아버지의 양육참여 하위요인인 자녀돌보기, 여가활동 함께하기, 정서적 지지, 생활지도 참여를 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 아버지의 결혼만족도가 높고 낮음에 따라 부모역할 자신감에 영향을 미치고 높은 결혼만족도로 인해 증가된 부모역할 자신감이 아버지의 자녀돌보기, 여가활동 함께하기, 생활지도 참여를 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 아버지의 정서적 지지는 부모역할 자신감을 통한 간접적인 영향뿐만 아니라 결혼만족도의 증가만으로도 직접적인 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 부모역할 자신감은 아버지의 양육참여 요인 모두에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 아버지의 자녀 양육참여에 가장 큰 영향력을 가지는 것으로 나타나 아버지의 높은 부모역할 자신감이 아버지의 양육참여에 가장 밀접한 관계를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 원가족의 정서분위기, 결혼만족도 및 부모역할 자신감이 아버지의 양육참여에 미치는 경로가 양육참여 요인에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 나타나 아버지의 양육참여를 활성화시키기 위해서는 아버지의 자녀 양육참여를 다차원적으로 평가하고 개입해야 함을 입증해 주고 있다. 또한 본 연구는 원가족의 정서분위기가 결혼만족도와 부모역할 자신감에 중요한 영향을 미치고 있어 원가족의 분위기가 세대적으로 전이함을 보여주고 있어 아버지역할과 아버지교육의 중요성을 더욱 부각시켜 주고 있다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of emotional climate in family of origin mediated by marital satisfaction and parenting role competence on father’s parenting involvement. The sample group for this study consisted of 250 fathers who had children aged five to seven drawn from six kindergartens and four nursery schools located in Cheongju city. Data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, Cronbach α, t-test, ANOVA with Tukey post-hoc test, and correlation using the SPSSWIN program. The theoretical model was separately tested according to types of father parenting involvement in preschool children. The results of this research were as follows: First, the emotional climate in family of origin directly affected marital satisfaction and parenting competence, and had an indirect influence on parental competence through marital satisfaction. Also the emotional climate in family of origin had a direct effect on father parenting involvement such as childcare, doing recreational activities together, emotional support, and education for living through marital satisfaction and parenting competence. Second, marital satisfaction had a direct effect on parenting competence and had an indirect effect on father childcare, doing recreational activities together, and education for living through parenting competence. Moreover, marital satisfaction directly and indirectly affected the father's emotional support by parenting competence. Third, the parenting competence affected all factors of father parenting involvement such as childcare, doing recreational activities together, emotional support, and education for living. Therefore, father parenting competence was the strongest factor in predicting father parenting involvement.
