삶의 만족도가 성공적 노화에 미치는 영향

Influences of Life Satisfaction on Successful Aging: Focusing on the Elderly Having Partners

본 논문은 성공적 노화의 개념을 신체적 기능, 인지적 기능, 심리적 안녕감 그리고 사회활동 기능 등의 네 가지 하위영역으로 정의하였다. 성공적 노화집단은 그렇지 않은 보통의 노화 집단보다 남성노인, 65-69세의 전기 노인, 초등학교 학력 노인, 유배우자, 유자녀(아들) 노인, 자녀와 동거하지 않은 노인, 자녀에게 경제적 지원을 하는 노인 등의 비율이 상대적으로 높았다. 유배우자 노인 2,598명을 대상으로 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하여 삶의 만족도 변인들이 성공적 노화여부에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 그 결과 자신의 건강상태와 경제적 지위에 대해 만족할수록 성공적 노화여부에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 성공적 노화를 구성하는 하위영역별로 분석해 보면 가족 관련 변인들 중 배우자에 대한 만족도는 심리적 안녕감 영역에서, 건강 관련 변인인 자신의 건강에 대한 만족도는 신체적 기능, 인지적 기능, 심리적 안녕감 그리고 사회활동 기능 등 네 가지 하위영역 모두에서, 경제적 지위 관련 변인인 자신의 경제력에 대한 만족도는 심리적 안녕감과 사회활동 기능 영역에서, 상대적 비교 관련 변인인 동년배와의 상대적 비교 만족도는 인지적 기능, 심리적 안녕감, 그리고 사회활동 기능 영역에 유의한 영향을 미쳤지만 가족관련 변인 중 자녀에 대한 만족도는 네 가지 하위영역 모두에서 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않음을 본 논문에서 보여주고 있다. 마지막으로 연구의 함의와 제한점이 논의되었다.

The authors define successful aging as composed of various dimensions such as physical function, cognitive function, social activities, and psychological well-being. as a result of research, such in male-elderly, prior period-elderly, elementary graded-elderly, elderly who has a spouse and children and nonresidence- children and economic status to give for his children rather than to be taken from, the ratio of successful aging is high relatively rather than in the other. This paper investigates the influences of life satisfaction on successful aging by using logistic regression analysis. Among the life satisfaction variables, satisfaction with health and economic status are shown to be the most important variables in influencing successful aging. Analyzed by sub-dimensions of successful aging: physical health, enjoyable social activities,emotional health, , and mental health, are statistically significant in success. And the social support that older persons give to their partners and children is more important than the social support they receive.
