국제결혼이주여성의 스트레스와 가족건강성 연구

A Study of Stress and Family Strength of Immigrant Women in International Marriages

본 연구는 증가하고 있는 다문화가족의 실체를 규명하기 위한 한 방안으로 국제결혼 이주여성의 스트레스와 가족건강성의 관계를 파악하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 조사대상자는 경남지역에 살고 있는 국제결혼 이주여성 161명으로서 설문지를 통해 자료수집을 하였다. 본 연구는 다문화가족의 어려움을 경감시킬 수 있는 방안 모색에 유용한 기초자료를 제공할 수 있으리라 기대하며, 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국제결혼 이주여성의 전체 스트레스 정도는 5점 척도에 평균 2.62점으로 중간점 3점보다 조금 낮아서 스트레스가 높지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 스트레스를 하위 영역별로 살펴보면, 가족관계 스트레스는 2.72점, 경제적 스트레스는 2.79점, 문화적응 스트레스는 2.46점으로 나타나서, 경제적 스트레스가 상대적으로 가장 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 국제결혼 이주여성의 가족건강성은 5점 만점에 평균 3.16점으로 나타나 보통수준인 것으로 나타났다. 이를 하위영역별로 살펴보면 가족원간의 의사소통과 가족간의 유대, 문제해결 수행능력, 가족원간의 가치공유 순으로 나타났다. 국제결혼 이주여성의 가족건강성에 유의한 차이를 보이는 변인은 국제결혼 이주여성의 국적, 교육수준, 남편의 교육수준, 종교유무, 남편의 직업, 월수입 정도, 결혼경로, 결혼만족도, 자아존중감 등으로 나타났다. 셋째, 국제결혼 이주여성의 스트레스는 가족건강성과 부적으로 밀접한 상관관계를 보였다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 볼 때 국제결혼 이주여성의 스트레스 감소는 가족건강성을 향상시킬 수 있으므로 국제결혼 이주여성의 스트레스를 경감할 수 있는 프로그램개발이 필요하다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of stress and family strength of international marriage immigrant women. The subjects were 161 immigrant women in international marriages. The results of this study were as follows: First, the degree of stress among immigrant women in international marriages was 2.62 when the maximal stress value was set to 5.0. The most stressful aspect for immigrant women in international marriages came from economic stress. Second, the degree of family strength among these women was 3.16 when the maximal family strength was set to 5.0. It was observed that family strength according to social demographic variables has a meaningful difference depending on the woman's nationality, education level, whether she has a religion, husband's occupation, monthly income and how they were married. It was also found that the group with higher self-esteem and marital satisfaction has higher family strength than the other group. Third, there was a close inverse correlation between stress and family strength for immigrant women in international marriages.
