국내 성인입양인의 친생가족 상봉 경험에 관한 질적 사례연구

A Qualitative Case Study on the Experiences of the Reunions between Adult Adoptees and Their Birth Families in Korea

본 연구의 목적은 국내 성인입양인이 친생가족을 상봉하기 전, 첫 만남, 친생가족과의 관계 형성과유지 등을 중심으로 친생가족 상봉 경험을 탐색하고, 그것이 갖는 의미를 분석함으로써, 향후 국내 입양인의 친생가족 상봉과 관련된 사후관리 서비스의 개발에 도움을 주고자 한다. 이와 같은 연구목적을달성하기 위하여 국내 성인입양인 4명을 대상으로 질적 사례연구 접근을 시도하였다. 연구결과를 살펴보면, 우선, 성인입양인은 친생가족 상봉 전에 친부모 만나기를 간절히 기다리며, 그리워하기도 하지만,동시에 친부모에 대한 원망과 복수심도 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 두 번째, 성인입양인들은 너무나 간절한마음으로 기다려왔지만 친부모와의 첫 만남이 생각과 달리 담담하게 느꼈다고 한다. 세 번째, 입양인의친생가족과의 관계 맺기는 관계를 형성하는 것 자체를 거부한 한 사례, 관계가 단절된 사례, 적당한 거리를 두면서 경계를 분명히 하려는 사례, 친생가족과 입양인이 서로 지지하며 친밀한 관계를 유지하기위해 노력하는 사례 등 다양한 유형으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 입양인은 친부모와의 만남 이후 양부모와 친부모 간의 충성심 갈등이 있었지만, 입양부모가 자신의 진짜부모라고 표현하였다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 토대로 입양실무 현장에서 입양인과 친생가족 상봉을 지원하기 위한 실천적 제언을 제시하였다.

The purposes of this study were to explore the experiences of the reunions between adult adoptees and their birth families, analyze the meanings, and develop post adoption services about reunions. 4 adult adoptees were included in the study and the case study approach was used in this study. The results of this study are as follows: First, before the reunions, the adult adoptees sincerely missed and hoped to meet their birth parents, at the same time, they blamed and bore hatred toward their birth parents. Second, the adult adoptees were looking forward to meeting their birth parents,but they were composed during the first meeting. Third, there are several cases in the making relationships of adoptees with their birth families, such as 'refusing to build a relationship','breaking a connection', 'staying aloof and drawing boundaries', and 'supporting each other and maintaining a close relationship'. Lastly, after meeting with their birth parents, the adoptees experienced a conflict of loyalty, but they considered their adoptive parents were as their real parents. Based on the research, practical guidelines were suggested to support the reunions between adoptees and their birth families.
