The purpose of this study is to understand the life experiences of male spouses in international marriages. Data were collected from 8 Korean men who were husbands in international marriages via in-depth interviews, and issues were categorized according to Mandelbaum's (1973) analytic framework. For international marriage, the concepts studied here were < the 'exhausted saltmaker'>, dimensions of life consisting of 'in the blazing sun and, early life', 'exhausted saltmaker, and the market of marriage', 'draw water, and from a distance'. The experience of married life, <coming salt> consisted of 'windy, not easy to adapt', 'sunlight, a position of hot and warm-hearted head of household', 'one's sea, family of each other', and 'master the seawater'. The adaptation of married life, <salt flowers bloom> consisted of 'more sweet more sour, flexible eyes of life', 'detailed crystal, relation network', 'my salt-pond, open and close', 'sweat, couple's affection', and 'cultivating, active position'. Based on the survey findings, we make suggestions for social work practices and policies.
