계부모가족내 아동의 적응 및 복지대책의 연구에 관한 고찰

A study on the research of children's adaptation and welfare policy in stepfamilies

The purposes of this study are to investigate stepfamily's characteristics, problems facing stepparent and stepchildren's adaptation, to explore welfare policies, and to develop research and theory for stepfamilies in modern times. Since the industrialization of the 1960s, families in Korea have had experienced radical changes, one of which is the high rate of divorce and subsequent remarriage. As the result of that, many stepfamilies and children with them have been generated, whereby many problems have been arisen. However, researches on the subject of stepfamilies and the welfare policy for them have been neglected in Korea. To bridge the gap, this study primarily focuses on the children's adaptation in stepfamilies home and the welfare policy for them, based on the American stepfamilies researches. The contents of this paper are organized under the following two main topics; 1) Content of the research on the children's adaptation in the stepfamilies 2) Content of the research on the welfare policy for the stepfamilies This paper concludes with some suggestions for the future studies.
