A Study on Comparison between Normal Family and Problem Family by Circumplex Model

The purpose of this study was to compare between normal family and three types of problem family by Circumplex Model. Two central dimensions of Circumplex Model are cohesion and adaptability. The Circumplex Model's main hypothesis is the curvilinear of cohesion and adaptability. The ideal level of cohesion is not 「disengaged」 and 「enmeshed」 but 「connected」 . The ideal level of adaptability is not 「rigid」 and 「chaotic」 but 「flexible」 . The ideal level of cohesion and adaptability is balanced level. Major findings were as follows : Normal family was 「balanced 」, three types of problem family was extremed on cohesion and adaptability. Specially Adolescence-delinquency family was 「disengaged」 and 「chaotic」 , and clinical family was 「enmeshed」 and 「rigid」 . Problem-behavior family did not have effective communication skills. Normal family functioned more effectively than problem family.
