A Study on the Supplementary Effect of Parenting from the Employer-Supported Child Care for Working Women with Preschool Children

This study examined the supplementary parenting effect of the employer- supported child care on (1) satisfaction of child care arrangement, (2) work/parenting stress, (3) job satisfaction and (4) work-behavior such as absenteeism, tardiness and early left, by way of analyzing and comparing 460 employees groups in Seoul. The subjects were divided by child care arrangements into three groups. Instruments were the researcher's revised four separate forms of the Schandl(1991)'s Employee data collection form, the Miller(1984)'s, the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire-Short form, the Berry and Rao's(1997) workplace family stress scale including other's. Analysis of variance(ANOVA) and chi square(X^2) analysis were adopted to examine the surveyed data. Results indicated that female employees who used the ESCC had significantly more satisfaction in child care arrangement, job satisfaction and showed less absenteeism, tardiness and early left.
