성격유형과 유머감각 및 스트레스 대처방식과의 관계

The Relationships between Personality Type, Sense of Humor and Stress Coping

This study investigated the relationships between personality type, sense of humor and stress coping. The subjects of this study were 214 female students who are enrolled in one private university and one adult & continuing education institute. The Korean-version MBTI, the sense of humor questionnaire, and the stress coping style test were used. The data were analyzed by frequencies, percentiles, t-test and regression analyses. The major findings were as follows: 1. The preference indices of MBTI that most of students had a higher prevalence were I, S, T, J. And ISTJ(26.6%), ISFJ(13.1%), ESTJ(11.7%) types were most numerous. 2. The extroverted subjects had the higher metamessage sensitivity, the higher emotional expressiveness and the higher coping humor. The most significant factor to predict the metamessage sensitivity and the emotional expressiveness was E-I. The coping humor was influenced by E-I and S-N. The effective factor was E-I. 3. The thinking subjects and the judging subjects significantly pursued problem-centered coping. The perceptive subjects significantly pursued emotion-centered coping. The most significant factor to predict the emotion-centered coping was J-P. The problem-centered coping was influenced by T-F and J-P. The effective factor was T-F. 4. The higher, the sense of humor, the more dealt with the social support coping and the hopeful thinking coping. If a person had a higher sense of humor, the person deal more with social support coping and the hopeful thinking coping.
