Study on Remarriage of Bereaved or Divorced Old people Ⅱ: Emphasis on Old Age Life of Remarried People in Chonju Area

This study is the second part following “study I” on remarriage of bereaved or divorced old people. There have been social problems since average life has been prolonged and the population of old people has been larger. The purpose of the current study is to find out the problems of old people's remarriage and to remove or minimize them, It also examines the benefits resulting from old people's remarriage and to contributes to old people's welfare and research development in this area. There were fourteen subjects in this study(10 male and 4 female) who lived in chonju and remarried when they were over 53 years old or are now in a second marriage. Since female old people have been restricted more than male old people in their remarriage chances, fewer old women were selected. The data was collected through interviews. Bereaved or divorced old people have remarried so they can be less lonely and have a more healthy and suitable life. Resolve remarriage problems through discussion and remembering the good aspects and successces of first marriage. Especially, Through they generally register their marriage. Their sttitude is that they can register or not, case by case. But actually old women want to take inheritance from old men. In that case, old men who have financial rights, have consideration that they leave.
