Children's Perceived Competences and the Tendency of Interpersonal Relations in the Children by Family Cohesion & Adaptability

The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship among and children self-concept. The subjects of this research were 379 children in the 5th and 6th grades of an elementary school. The scales used in this study was FACES Ⅲ(Olson et al., 1986), a Perceived Competence Scale for children(Hater, 1982) and the Interpersonal Relations Tendency Scale(Ahn, Bum-Hee, 1985) was modified and employed. The data analysis by made SPSS/PC WIN, and average, pearson's correlation, T-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan test and were employed to test the research questions. As a result, Family cohesion and adaptability influenced Children's perceived compe tences and the Tendency of Interpersonal Relations. The Family adaptability was more strongly associated with cognitive competence physical competence and general self-worth at lower levels of the social competence than higher levels. There were Perceived Competences in children's level of social competence between male and female students, but were not significant difference in Perceived Competence between male and female students. Girls' level of social competence was higher than boys. For the interpersonal relations were more sympathetic-accepting, ostentation-intoxication, society-friendly than boys. For the international relations firth were more sympathetic-accepting than the rest of the people, but only son level of competition-offensive was higher than the rest of the people.
