A Study on the degree performance and expectation of their father's paternal role recognized by the adolescents

This study was conducted to investigate the degrees performance and expectations of their father's paternal role that adolescents discern. The 325 participants in the sample were students residing in Cheonju. They were the second grade of middle school and highschool. It establishes the father's paternal role in five sections like economic role, role of value transfer, role of command harmony, role of affection, and role of intellectual development. Major findings are described in the following : 1) The variables which effect the father's paternal role execution are grade, monthly income, type of decision-making in home, father's scholarship, and father's age. 2) The variables which effect the father's paternal role expectation are grade, father's job, type of decision-making in home, father's age. 3) The degrees performance and expectation of their father's paternal role that adolescents discerned were very different. That was, the adolescents thought that the other paternal roles except role of value transfer didn't execute their roles as they expect. So, the students need the educational support and public information of paternal role have to serve for the adolescents' father.
