Colleges/universities have experienced challenging learning environments such as online non-face-to-face classes in pandemic situations such as COVID-19. Through this experience, colleges have become aware of the importance of digital-based learning such as online classes, and accumulated know-how by attempting various technologies and methods to increase the learning effect. Artificial intelligence (AI) technology is rapidly developing after the pandemic, putting us in the era of digital transformation in which the speed of education cannot surpass that of technological development. As a result, learners require digital literacy competencies in addition to ethics regarding higher levels of AI tools, as well as problem-solving skills using various digital-based tools at the same time. Accordingly, this study designed a digital collaboration problem-based learning (DC-PBL) model for college students to solve common problems by collaboratively interacting with one another using various digital tools. To this end, an instructional model was developed based on literature research, which was validated by the opinions of four experts and revised and supplemented by collecting expert opinions, after which the final model was presented.
