이주민에 대한 사회적 거리감이 다문화 수용성에 미치는 영향

The Effect of Social Distance toward Immigrants on Multicultural Acceptance : Verification of the Mediating Effect of Threat Awareness among Chung Nam Residents

최근 국내에 유입되어 활동하는 이주민과 다문화 공동체는 지속적으로 증가하였으며, 구성원들도 전문인력에서 불법체류자까지 다양하게 나타나고 있다. 본 연구는 충남도민들이 이주민에 대해 인식하는 사회적 거리감이 다문화 수용성에 미치는 영향과위협인식의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구 결과, 인구사회학적 특성 중에서 자녀 유무, 연령, 혼인 상태, 학력에 따라 집단 간의인식 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 사회적 거리감이 다문화 수용성에 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고, 위협인식이 부분매개효과가있는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 다문화 수용성에 사회적 거리감과 위협인식이라는 부정적 인식의 영향을 감소시키고 갈등 문제 해결을 위한 지역사회와 유관기관의 지속적인 모니터링과 사회통합 정책을 실시해야 한다.

Recently, the number of immigrants and multicultural communities moving into the country has continued to increase. Also, Multicultural members appear from professionals to illegal immigrants in a variety of ways. This study verified the impact of the social distance by Chung Nam residents toward immigrants on multicultural acceptance and the mediating effect of threat awareness. As a result of the study, it was found that there were differences in perception between groups depending on the presence of children, age, marital status, and educational level among socio-demographic characteristics. Threat awareness was significant to have a partial mediating effect on the effect of the survey subjects' social distance on multicultural acceptance. Ultimately, in order to reduce the impact of negative perceptions such as social distance and threat awareness on multicultural acceptance, and to resolve conflict issues, continuous monitoring and social integration policies by local communities and related organizations must be implemented.
