마황 또는 에페드린 성분의 비만치료 적용의 안전성 검토

Safety Review of the Application of Ephedra or Ephedrine Components in Obesity Treatment

마황 및 에페드린은 최근 기존의 기능 외에 비만 치료의 목적으로 많이 사용되고 있으나, 지속적으로 안전성에 대한 논란이 제기되어 비만 목적으로 사용하는데 주의를 필요로 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 체중감량을 목적으로 마황 또는 에페드린을 활용한 연구 결과의 타당성을 평가하였다. 또한 비만 치료에 사용될 때 발생할 수 있는 부작용 사례를 검토하였으며, 이에 대한 안전성을 평가하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 비만 한의임상진료지침에 대해 학술적으로 검토하였으며, 마황 부작용에 대한 사례를 연구하였다. 연구 결과, 비만 관련 마황 사용에 대한 지침 마련에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Ephedra and ephedrine have recently been widely used for obesity treatment purposes in addition to their existing functions, but safety controversy has been continuously raised and caution is required when using them for obesity purposes. Therefore, this study evaluated the validity of the research results using ephedra and ephedrine for the purpose of weight loss. Cases of side effects that may occur when used to treat obesity were reviewed, and their safety was evaluated. To the end, in this study, the obesity korean medicine clinical practice guideline was reviewed academically, and cases of side effects of ephedra was studied. As a result of the study, it is excepted to contribute to the preparation of guideline for the use of obesity-related ephedra.
