초급 한국어 교재 개발의 실제 - 서울과학기술대 한국어과정 초급 교재를 중심으로

The present situation of developing Korean language textbooks for beginners - Focused on the textbooks for beginners of the Korean Language Program, Seoul National University of Science & Technology

한국어교육 기관별 교육 목표에 맞는 교재 개발의 흐름에 맞춰 서울과학기술대학교 한국어 과정에서도 초급 1, 2의 교재를 개발하여 사용하고 있다. 이에 1년여간 사용해 온 초급 교재에 대한 학습자와 교사의 사용 만족도와 교재의 장·단점을 설문 조사와 인터뷰를 통해 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 문법의 체계적이며 단계적인 연습 및 활동이 제시되었으며, 실제적으로 사용할 수 있는 어휘 및 표현이 제시되어 학습자의 만족도가 높았음을 알 수 있었다. 다만 번역이 없어 혼자 학습하기에는 어려움이 있었다는 점이 가장 큰 단점이었다. 본 연구에서 교재 개발 과정과 중점을 두고 개발한 부분을 살펴봄으로써 향후 중급 교재 개발 시 번역 수록이 절대적으로 필요함을 확인할 수 있었다.

In line with the trend of developing textbooks aligned with the educational goals of Korean language institutions, Seoul National University of Science & Technology has been utilizing newly developed textbooks for the initial levels of its Korean language courses. This study examined the satisfaction of learners and teachers with these beginner textbooks, used for over a year, as well as their advantages and disadvantages through surveys and interviews. It was found that learners appreciated the systematic and incremental approach to grammar exercises and activities, along with practical vocabulary and expressions. However, a significant drawback was the absence of translations, posing challenges for self-study. This study's focus on the textbook development process and its key features underscores the critical need for including translations in future intermediate textbooks.
