This article talks about the importance of enriching Mongolia’s “Third Neighbor” policy with multilateral cooperation. The trilateral cooperation between China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea, which is formation in East Asia, is steadily growing in importance in the fields of politics, trade, economy, and security. The three countries support the possibility of Mongolia joining this formation process. Furthermore, the new paradigm in Mongolia’s “Third Neighbor” policy is that the permanent mechanism of tripartite cooperation between Mongolia, the United States, Japan, and Mongolia, the United States, and the Republic of Korea is maturing and developing successfully. This article aims to describe the purpose, nature and first results of these processes.
