스포츠에서 ‘초월적 페어플레이’의 구체적 구분과 정의

Specific distinction and definition of ‘transcendental fair play’ in sports

목적 본 연구에서는 스포츠에서 ‘초월적 페어플레이’를 상황에 따른 구체적 구분을 하고 그것을 정의하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 스포츠 경기 상황에서 실제 발생하였던 ‘초월적 페어플레이’라고 평가되는 10가지의 사례를 선별하여, 다중사례연구 방법을 통해 종합하고 분석한 뒤 각각의 특징과 그것이 내포하고 있는 의의에 따라 구체적으로 구분하고 정의하였다. 결과 ‘초월적 페어플레이’는 같은 목적을 가지고 스포츠에 참여하였으나 신체적 위험에 처한 사람을 직접적으로 도와주는 ‘구호 행동’, 곤경에 처한 경쟁자를 위해 스스로 일시적으로 경기력을 저하시키는 ‘배려 행동’, 경쟁자를 위해 경기의 규칙을 위반할 가능성이 있음에도 스스로 경기의 운영을 이타적으로 하는 ‘이타적 경기 운영 행동’, 잘못된 판정이나 판단으로 인해 자신에게 이득이 올 수 있음에도 불구하고 자발적으로 진실을 인정하고 다시 되돌리는 ‘자인 행동’으로 구체적으로 구분하여 정의하고 명명하였다. 결론 ‘초월적 페어플레이’의 구체적 구분과 명명, 정의된 개념 등의 실제적 적용은 스포츠 경기 중 모범적 행동의 필요성을 증명하고, 도덕적 행동의 실천 가능성 증가 요인 등을 제공할 것으로 기대한다.

Objectives In this study, ‘transcendental fair play’ in sports was specifically classified and defined according to the situation. Methods To this end, 10 cases evaluated as ‘transcendental fair play’ that actually occurred in sports game situations were selected, synthesized and analyzed through multiple case studies, and then classified and defined in detail according to each characteristic and its significance. Results ‘Transcendental fair play’ is ‘aid action’ which involves directly helping someone who participates in sports with the same purpose but is in physical danger, A ‘consideration action’ that involves temporarily lowering one’s performance for a competitor in trouble, ‘Altruistic game management action’ which involves altruistically running a game for one’s competitors despite the possibility of breaking the rules of the game, ‘acknowledgment action’ which voluntarily acknowledges the truth and takes it back, even though there may be benefits to oneself due to an incorrect decision or judgment were specifically classified, defined, and named. Conclusions The practical application of ‘transcendental fair play’ is expected to prove the need for exemplary behavior during sports games and provide factors that increase the likelihood of moral behavior.
