대학생의 부모화 경험과 자기분화와의 관계: 자기침묵과 정서표현 양가성의 순차적 매개효과

The Relationship between Parentification Experience and Self-Differentiation of University Students: Sequential mediating effects of Self-silencing and Ambivalence over Emotional expressiveness

목적 본 연구는 부모화 경험과 자기분화와의 관계에서 자기침묵과 정서표현 양가성의 순차적 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위해 수도권과 비수도권의 대학생 400명을 대상으로 부모화 경험 척도(FRS-A), 자기침묵 척도(STSS), 정서표현 양가성 척도(AEQ-K), 자기분화 척도로 구성된 자기보고식 설문을 실시하였다. 자료 분석은 부모화 경험, 자기침묵, 정서표현 양가성, 자기분화와의 관계를 알아보기 위해 상관분석을 실시하였다. 부모화 경험과 자기분화와의 관계에서 자기침묵과 정서표현 양가성의 매개효과를 검증하기 위하여 회귀분석을 실시하였고, 부모화 경험이 자기침묵과 정서표현 양가성을 순차적으로 경유하여 자기분화에 미치는 간접효과가 유의한지 검증하기 위하여 부트스트랩(bootstrap) 기법을 사용하였다. 결과 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모화 경험은 자기분화와 부적 상관, 자기침묵과 정적 상관이 나타났고, 자기침묵은 정서표현 양가성과 정적 상관이 나타났다. 둘째, 부모화 경험은 자기분화에 직접적인 영향을 미쳤고, 부모화 경험이 자기침묵을 거쳐 자기분화에 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 셋째, 부모화 경험이 자기침묵과 정서표현 양가성을 경유하여 자기분화에 영향을 미치는 순차적 매개효과를 확인하였다. 결론 이와 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점을 논의하였다.

Objectives This study was to investigate a sequential mediating effect of self-silencing and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness in the relationship between parentification experience and self-differentiation. Methods For the purpose of the study, a total of 400 college students completed a research packet including the Filial Responsibility Scale-Adult (FRS-A), Silencing The Self Scale(STSS), Ambivalence over Emotional Expressiveness Questionnaire(AEQ-K), and Korean Version of Self-Differentiation Scale. Data were analyzed by using SPSS program and a Bootstrapping was used to test the significance of the mediating effects. Results The results indicated that parentification experience was negatively correlated with self-differentiation and positively correlated with self-silencing and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness. Second, parentification experience showed a direct effect on self-differentiation and an indirect effect on self-differentiation. Third, a sequential mediating effect of self-silencing and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness in the relationship between parentification experience and self-differentiation. Conclusions The implications and the limitations of the study were discussed.
