曹江(1781~1837)은 1801년부터 1828년까지의 기간 전후로 柳得恭·朴齊家·金善民·南公轍·金正喜·金命喜·申在植·朴思浩 등 20여 명의 조선 문인들과 교유하였는데, 이처럼 교유 기간이 길고 범위가 넓은 것은 드문 경우이다. 특별히 언급할 만한 것은 바로 조강의 추천을 통해 김정희가 翁方綱과 만나서 교류할 수 있었다는 사실이다. 이러한 점을 통해 조강이 19세기 중국과 한국의 문화교류사에서 중요한 지위를 차지하고 있었다고 말할 수 있다. 필자는 김선민의 『觀燕錄』, 원재명의 『芝汀燕記』·『燕行錄』 등의 연행기록을 바탕으로 조강의 교유 자취를 기초적으로 정리하고, 이 기반 위에서 한국 고려대학교 소장 조강의 친필본인 『朝名家書牘』를 중점으로 하여, 서신 왕래 시간 및 서신 내용에 대한 분석을 통해 조강과 김선민 형제 및 김정희 형제 등이 금석과 서화에 대한 공통된 애호로 말미암아 진정한 우의를 맺은 것에 대해 심도 있게 고찰하였다.
Cao Jiang (1781~1837) traveled with more than twenty Joseon literati from 1801 to 1828, including Liu Degong, Piao Qijia, Jin Shanmin, Nan Gongzhe, Jin Zhengxi, Jin Mingxi, Shen Zaizhi, Piao Sihao, which was a rare event.It is especially worth mentioning that it was through the introduction of Cao Jiang that Jin Zhengxi was able to meet and exchange ideas with Weng Fanggang. It can be said that Cao Jiang played an extremely important role in the history of cultural exchange between China and Korea in the 19th century. On the other hand, most of the records of Cao Jiang's travels with Joseon literati are scattered in the records of various swans' trips, making systematic research difficult. On the basis of the records of swallow travels, such as Gwan-yan-log, Ji-jeong-yan-ji, and Yan-hang-log, the author has organized the trajectory of Cao Jiang's travels.In addition, the Korean Koryo University collection of Cao Jiang autographs written by the “Qing dynasty famous writer's ephemera” as the focus, through the inference of the time of the letters and the analysis of the content of the letters, the author in-depth investigation of Cao Jiang and Jin Shan-min brothers and Jin Zhengxi brothers, as well as their sincere friendship through their common love of gold and stone painting and calligraphy.
