일본의 문학사에서 한시문은 어떤 의의를 그리고 또 어떤 문제를 품고 있는 것일까. 본고에서는 하야시 가호(林鵞峰)의 『本朝一人一首』를 예로 들어 에도(江戸) 초기를 대표하는 儒者였던 하야시 가호에 의해 일본 한시사에 대한 관찰이 어떻게 이루어졌는가를 검토한다. 儒學·文·詩에 재능을 겸비하여 학문하는 가문으로서의 지위를 확립했던 하야시 가문(林家)의 학자에게 詩文의 힘을 가지고 대외교류에서 文事를 맡아 활약하는 것은 특히 커다란 영예였다. 『本朝一人一首』가 對外交流詩를 높이 평가하는 것은 그러한 하야시 가문의 생각과 에도 초기의 상황을 반영한 것이라 생각된다. 또 『本朝一人一首』에는 일본의 通史인 『本朝通鑑』 편찬이라는 일대 프로젝트에 도전한 하야시 가호 고유의 정보수집 성과가 살아나며 역사관이 포개진다. 이러한 『本朝一人一首』에 있어 일본한시연구의 실제와 특징에 대해 ‘동아시아 한학 연구’의 일례로써 고찰한다.
What is the significance of Chinese poetry in the history of Japanese literature, and what problems did it face? In this article, I will use Hayashi Gahō's Honchō Ichinin Isshu as an example to examine how Gahō, a leading Confucian scholar in the early Edo period, conducted his observations on the history of Chinese poetry in Japan. For the scholars of the Hayashi family, who had established themselves as a family of scholars by combining Confucian studies with literary and poetic talents, it was a great honor to play an active role in foreign correspondence through the power of poetry and writing. The fact that Honchō Ichinin Isshu highly praised poems written for foreign correspondence may reflect the intentions of the Hayashi family and the situation in the early Edo period. In addition, Honchō Ichinin Isshu makes use of the results of Hayashi Gahō's information gathering and historical perspective, as he undertook a major project to compile a comprehensive history of Japan, Honchō Tshugan. The actual situation and characteristics of the study of Japanese traditional Chinese poetry in Honchō Ichinin Isshu are discussed as an example of “East Asian Studies in Chinese Studies”.
