柳夢寅 漢詩에 나타난 내면의식의 一面

One aspect of the inner consciousness that appeared in the poems of Yu Mong-In (柳夢寅)

柳夢寅은 조선 중기 문단에서도 매우 특출한 文人으로 평생 대단한 自負를 가졌다. 그의 작품에 보이는 오만한 표현들은 그 자부의 크기를 짐작하게 한다. 그러나 위정자로서 유몽인은 자신의 능력이 세상에 제대로 쓰이지 못하여 포부를 실현할 수 없다는 ‘懷才不遇’ 의식이 강했다. 이것은 당시 시대 상황과 밀접한 관련이 있었기에 세상과 그의 不和는 필연적이었다. 이에 그는 깊이 절망하고 좌절했는데, 그것이 그 삶의 가장 큰 悲哀였다고 하겠다. 그 속에서 그는 자신을 남과 다른, 그 어디에도 속하지 않는 ‘홀로 높은 사람[孤高]’으로 인식했다.

Yu Mong-In was a very prominent writer in the middle of the Joseon Dynasty and had a great pride in his life. We can read his pride through the arrogant expressions in his work. However, as a politician, he had a strong belief that his abilities could not be used in the world to achieve aspiration. It was so closely related to the situation of the time that the world could not satisfy his pride. So the world and his disagreement were inevitable. He was deeply despondent and frustrated, and it was the greatest sorrow of life. In this life, he perceived himself as a person of proud loneliness who does not belong anywhere else.
