The Effects of Implementing Blended Learning in TOEIC Classes

본 연구는 블렌디드 러닝의 효과성을 고찰하고 TOEIC 수업에 블렌디드 러닝을 적용하기 위한 구체적인 설계 방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 블렌디드 러닝은 온라인과 오프라인 학습 환경의 장점을 결합하여 학습 효과를 높이는 교육 방식으로, TOEIC 수업의 효과성 향상에 기여할 수 있다. 연구 결과, 블렌디드 러닝 기반 TOEIC 수업 설계에 있어 개별화 학습 지원, 형성평가 강화, 협력 학습 촉진, 플립러닝 적용, 모바일 학습 지원 등의 전략이 효과적임을 확인하였다. 또한 블렌디드 러닝의 성공적인 실행을 위해서는 온라인과 오프라인 학습활동의 유기적 연계, 양질의 온라인 콘텐츠 개발, 교수자의 역량 강화 등이 필수적임을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 COVID-19 이후 뉴노멀 시대의 대학 교육 혁신 방안으로서 블렌디드 러닝의 가능성을 탐색하고, 효과적인 설계 및 운영 방안을 모색하는 데 의미 있는 시사점을 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of blended learning and to present a specific design plan for applying blended learning to TOEIC classes. Blended learning is an educational method that enhances the learning effect by combining the advantages of online and offline learning environments, and can contribute to improving the effectiveness of TOEIC classes. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that strategies such as support for individualized learning, reinforcement of formative evaluation, promotion of cooperative learning, application of flipped learning, and mobile learning support are effective in designing blended learning-based TOEIC classes. In addition, it was suggested that for the successful execution of blended learning, organic linkage between online and offline learning activities, development of high-quality online content, and strengthening the capabilities of instructors are essential. This study is expected to provide meaningful implications for exploring the possibility of blended learning as a way to innovate university education in the post-COVID-19 era and seeking effective design and operation plans.
