夢囈南克寬의 『謝施子』 譯注

A translation of Mong-ye Namgeukgwan's Sasija with note

『몽예집(夢囈集)』권 하에 수록된 『사시자(謝施子)』는 몽예(夢囈) 남극관(南克寬, 1689-1714)의 필기잡록(筆記雜錄)로, 그의 사유와 의식이 오롯이 담겨 있는 일종의 학술기록이다. 그 내용은 천문역법ㆍ인물평ㆍ사평(史評)ㆍ언어문자 등에 관해 사적(私的)인 견해로 서술한 것들인데, 당대 소론계(少論系) 지적경향성을 공유하고 있었으며, 폭넓은 독서를 통해 자신의 생각을 거침없기 기술했기에 17c후반 학술문화사적으로 중요한 자료이다. 그러나 짧은 편폭 안에 기사 작성의 맥락 등이 생략되어 있으며, 다양한 서적을 인용하여 자신의 생각을 전개한 탓에 배경지식 및 출전과 전거에 대한 이해 없이는 쉽게 읽어 낼 수 없다. 본고에서는 출전과 전거를 밝히고 남극관이 기사를 작성한 목적을 설명하는 상세한 주석을 갖추어 번역함으로써 『사시자』의 진면목을 밝히고 그 가치를 제고(提高)하려 하였다. 논문의 크게 두 부분으로 나뉜다. 해제에서 사시자의 내용 및 구성에 대해 기술하였으며 역주에서는 번역문을 제시하고 독자의 편의를 위해 원문에 상세한 표점을 하여 함께 제시하였다. 또한 각 기사에는 원래 제목이 없지만 제재와 중심내용에 따라 제목을 달아 독자가 기사를 이해하는데 도움을 주고자 하였다.

Sasija in the Mong-yejip is a collection miscellaneous essays of Mong-ye Namgeukgwan(南克寬, 1689-1714), which is a type of scholarly records fully reflecting his ideas and thoughts. The contents deal with astronomical calendar, certain figures, history, languages and characters, all from an overall personal perspective. It shared the intellectual tendency of Soron(少論, the young doctrine) of the time and he described his thought earned from extensive reading without reserve. Hence, it is a critical material in an aspect of academic-cultural history of late 17th century. However, as Namgeukgwan omitted the context of writing in short writings and developed his thinking as quoting various books, accurate meaning cannot be easily grasped without comprehending background knowledge and references. In this paper, by indicating the source and translating the contents with detailed annotations explaining the purpose of his writing essays, the real worth of Sasija would be proved and enhanced. The paper is divided into two parts. The contents and structure of Sasija are described in annotation part. The other part is composed of translation and original text, punctuation marks are added for convenience. There are no separate titles in original material, but in order to help the reader to understand the contents more easily, the each article has been assigned a title in accordance with the main topic.
