디지털시대 발달장애인에게 디지털기술은 기회보장도구이자 생존도구인가? - 주돌봄자와 연구개발자 중심으로

Is digital technology a opportunity security and a survival tool for people with developmental disabilities in the digital age?: focus on primary caregiver and R&D developer

디지털기술 성장과 진화는 우리 삶에 과거보다 편리함과 효율성을 안겨 주었으나 이러한 진보와 변화가 발달장애인의 삶에도 공정하게 적용되지는 않았다. 본 연구의 목적은 발달장애인들이 디지털기술로 인해 배제됨이 없이 공정한 기회를 보장받고 지역사회에서 일상을 영위할 수 있도록 디지털기술의 나아갈 방향을 제시하는 데 있다. 연구목적 달성을 위해 기존의 국내문헌을 중심으로 선행연구들을 분석하였고 연구 대상으로 발달장애인 주돌봄자와 디지털기술 연구개발자를 중심으로 삼았으며 연구 방법은 초점집단인터뷰를 통해 발달장애인의 디지털기술 이용 및 확대보급 등과 관련된 구체적인 맥락을 심도 깊게 이해하고자 하였다. 연구결과 주돌봄자들에게 디지털기술은 필요는 하지만 무작정 이용하기에는 두렵고, 연구개발자들에게는 정확히 어떤 기술을 필요로 하는지 알기 어렵고 당사자에 의한 검증이 어려우며, 시장의 특수성으로 인해 섣불리 개발에 뛰어들 수 없는 것이었다. 본 연구를 통해 도출된 결과를 토대로 연구 논의한 바, 디지털시대 발달장애인의 권리 보장과 생존도구로써의 디지털기술 개발을 위해 요구되는 사회적 노력들은 무엇인지 결론과 함의에 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to ensure that people with developmental disabilities are securitied a fair opportunity and can live their daily lives in the community without being excluded by digital technology. To this end, it is to suggest the direction of digital technology. Previous studies were analyzed focusing on existing domestic literature to achieve the research purpose. In order to deeply understand the contents related to the use and expansion and dissemination of digital technology by the developmentally disabled, a focus group interview was conducted with the main caregiver and digital technology research and developers. As a result of the study, although digital technology is necessary for primary caregivers, it is scary to use, and it is difficult for R&D developers to know exactly what technology is required, and it is difficult to verify by the parties. In addition, it was difficult to participate in the development prematurely due to the specificity of the market. Based on the results derived through this study, the social efforts required to guarantee the rights of people with developmental disabilities in the digital age and to develop digital technology as a survival tool were presented in conclusions and implications.
