텍스트 마이닝과 네트워크 분석을 활용한 『논어(論語)』 연구 동향 분석 - 2000-2023년 국내 학술논문을 중심으로

Analysis of Research Trends in the Analects of Confucius (論語) Using Text Mining and Network Analysis - Focusing on Domestic Academic Papers from 2000 to 2023

본 연구는 2000년부터 2023년까지 24년간 국내에서 발표된 『논어(論語)』 관련 학술 논문 784편을 대상으로 텍스트 마이닝 기법을 활용하여 연구 동향을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 『논어』 연구는 크게 조선시대의 유교와 주자 연구, 공자의 도덕과 윤리 가치, 유교 교육과 현대적 적용, 유교 철학과 정치의 네 가지 주제 영역으로 분류되었다. 이러한 연구 동향은 『논어』가 현대 한국 학계에서 여전히 중요한 연구 대상으로 인식되고 있으며, 다양한 학문 분야에서 활발히 연구되고 있음을 보여준다. 그러나 디지털 시대의 급속한 발전과 AI 기술의 확산으로 인해, 전통적인 인문학 연구 방법론에 대한 재고가 필요한 시점에 와 있다. 이에 본 연구는 향후『논어』및 인문학 연구의 방향성에 대해 인간 존재의 본질과 영성에 대한 탐구로의 회귀, 디지털 기술을 활용한 새로운 연구 방법론의 개발, 학제 간 연구와 협력의 확대, 인문학 연구자들의 역할과 연구 평가 방식에 대한 재고를 제안한다. 결론적으로, 인문학은 디지털 시대의 도전 속에서도 여전히 중요한 의미를 지니고 있으며, 앞으로의 인문학 연구는 전통적 해석과 현대적 방법론의 조화, 그리고 인문학의 본질적 가치에 대한 재인식을 통해 새로운 지평을 열어가야 할 것임을 밝힌다.

This study analyzed research trends in 784 academic papers related to the Analects of Confucius (論語) published in Korea over 24 years from 2000 to 2023 using text mining techniques. The analysis revealed four main thematic areas in Analects research: Confucianism and Zhu Xi studies in the Joseon Dynasty, Confucius' moral and ethical values, Confucian education and its modern applications, and Confucian philosophy and politics. These research trends demonstrate that the Analects remain an important subject of study in modern Korean academia and are actively researched across various disciplines. However, with the rapid development of the digital age and the proliferation of AI technology, it is time to reconsider traditional humanities research methodologies. This study proposes future directions for Analects and humanities research, including returning to the exploration of human essence and spirituality, developing new research methodologies utilizing digital technology, expanding interdisciplinary research and collaboration, and reconsidering the roles of humanities researchers and research evaluation methods. In conclusion, the humanities retain significant meaning even in the face of digital age challenges and may serve as an even more important guide in the era of AI and big data. Therefore, future humanities research should open new horizons through a harmony of traditional interpretation and modern methodologies, and a re-recognition of the intrinsic value of the humanities.
