Driven by globalization, the family structures in China and South Korea have shown a trend towards diversification. This study explores the definition, classification, and theoretical foundations of family structures, revealing the main causes of family structure diversification and its extensive impacts on society. The research finds that China and South Korea share common characteristics in terms of family size and intergenerational relationships, but there are certain differences in social security and the division of household labor. Based on these findings, the study proposes strategies to optimize family policies, enhance education levels, and strengthen community construction to address the challenges brought by family diversification and to promote sustainable social development.
