Realizing low-carbon transformation: research on the development of Hebei iron and steel industry from the perspective of carbon neutrality

From the perspective of carbon neutrality, this paper discusses the development status of Hebei iron and steel industry under the challenge of global climate change and the challenges it faces. Hebei's steel industry is not only an important pillar of China's economy, but also a major source of carbon emissions. In the context of China's pledge to become carbon neutral by 2060, the development of Hebei's steel industry is crucial. Through policy analysis and case studies, this study focuses on the difficulties of technology upgrading faced by the steel industry in Hebei Province in the process of moving towards carbon neutrality, especially the significant challenges in the development and application of low-carbon technologies. In response to these problems, this paper puts forward strategies to strengthen technology upgrading and innovation, industrial structure optimization and energy structure transformation, whole life cycle evaluation and market mechanism application. These strategies not only help Hebei's steel industry achieve low-carbon transformation, but also provide a viable development path for other regions and industries.
