A large number of professional vocabulary and terms, as well as their specific grammar rules and discourse structures, make medical English awkward and difficult to understand. Traditional English teaching makes medical English appear dull and boring, resulting in poor learning outcomes for students. The motivation of words is an effective linguistic theory for learning English words and understanding their meanings in a certain context. Teaching based on the morphological, etymological, and semantic motivations of medical terms can help students better grasp the relationship between form and meaning, enhance their ability to remember and recognize medical terms based on understanding, and improve learning efficiency.
大量专业词汇和术语及其特定的语法规则和语篇结构使得医学英语生涩难懂。传统的英语教学使医学英语显得枯燥乏味,学生的学习效果欠佳。词的理据性是学习英语单词、理解词在一定语境下的意义的一种有效的语言学理论。基于医学英语词汇的形态理据、词源理据和语义理据基础上的教学,有助于帮助学生更好地掌握医学英语词汇形和义之间的理据关系,提升学生在理解基础上记忆和识别单词的能力,提高学习效率。
