Wood accounts for the largest portion of furniture materials. Wood is a natural material and is environmentally friendly, but it undergoes severe changes such as shrinkage and expansion, so in order to use it as a furniture material, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of the material and know the technology for processing methods. Among wood-handling technologies, bending technology can save and use furniture materials efficiently while creating various curved shapes. Vendil technologies such as steam, ammonia, and high frequency have been developed as they have been used in furniture production for a long time. Wood is a viscoelastic material and has some plasticity, so it has the material property of being able to create beautiful curves when force is applied. Therefore, this study aims to help many furniture designers and manufacturers in their furniture production by investigating the types and characteristics of bending technologies that have been used so far in furniture production and examining use cases.
