In contemporary society, the significance of one's appearance has amplified, leading to the establishment of new aesthetic standards. In this context, hair fashion has become prominent among college students as a means to express their personality and keep up with the latest trends (Song Jun-ok, 2008). Within hair fashion, coloring has emerged as a notable trend among the younger generation. While hair coloring was predominantly associated with certain women in the 1990s, it has since become increasingly prevalent among young people. With the recent expansion of the beauty industry, there has been a surge in studies focusing on hair design within hair-related colleges, leading to an increase in the number of students majoring in beauty-related courses. Consequently, more students are opting for a hair-related major and securing employment within the hair industry. When it comes to hair coloring, agent 1, known as ‘oxidation dye’, facilitates the reduction of hair, while agent 2, ‘hydrogen peroxide’, achieves hair coloring through the generation of an oxidative coupling reaction. This process leads to protein modification in the hair, resulting in dryness and emphasizing the necessity of proper hair care. Despite the increasing interest in hair fashion, it has been challenging to find studies on the correct use of hair dyes. Under these circumstances, this study attempted to investigate the level of satisfaction among college students majoring in cosmetology with their hair coloring products, with the goals of recommending the correct usage of hair dyes and providing foundational data for their further growth and development.
