This study aimed to investigate how deep tissue massage on the pelvic area and legs affects postural balance. To achieve this, a total of 30 female golfers aged 40-50 were recruited through simple randomization. They were then divided into two groups: an experimental group and a control group, each consisting of 15 individuals. The experimental group underwent deep tissue massage on their pelvis and legs twice a week for a total of 8 sessions over 4 weeks. Their body shape was analyzed using a 3D muscle and body shape measurement system before the treatment, after 4 sessions, and after 8 sessions. The control group underwent the same testing procedure under identical conditions. In term of the measurement, the Moire Topography was utilized to monitor changes in various body parts including the suprascapular region, scapular region, infrascapular region, sacral region, and gluteal region. The results indicated that deep tissue massage targeting the pelvic area and legs contributed to enhancing postural balance affected by one-sided movements among middle-aged women. Notably, this improvement was evident not only in the lower body but also in the upper body, demonstrating the effectiveness of this massage approach. Further research into manipulative therapies, particularly focusing on deep tissue massage for the pelvic area and legs, is anticipated to contribute to overall body balance enhancement.
