This paper aims to investigate the usage characteristics of people who have experienced medical nail care by age to identify consumer characteristics and to provide a basis for exploring consumer understanding of medical nail care and a future system review. A frequency analysis was conducted to examine the utilization characteristics of 469 patients who had or were currently receiving medical nail care. A chi-square (X ) test 2 was conducted to verify whether there were significant differences in treatment and utilization characteristics according to the demographic characteristics of the study subjects. The results are as follows. First, among the types of problems, onychomycosis was the most common among those 50 years or older, and ingrown toenails were the most common among those in their 30s. Second, in terms of past use of medical nail care, those 50 years or older were more likely to use hospitals, while those in their 30s and 40s were more likely to use home care. The reason for utilizing medical nail care was “to improve the problem” regardless of age. Third, the rate of laser treatment for onychomycosis tended to increase with age, while the rate of medication was highest among those 50 years or older, and the rate of drill treatment for ingrown and pincer toenails was relatively high with those in their 30s and 40s. Fourth, when analyzing the difference in monthly expenditure, it tended to increase with age. The results confirm that there are differences in treatment according to symptoms by age, and it is necessary to rethink the treatment system considering consumer understanding.
