본 연구는 대학원 유학생이 학위논문을 쓸 때 참고할 교재도 참여할 수 있는 수업도 부족하다고 전제하고, 해결책으로 ‘문지방 개념’에 주목해서 문지방 개념 관련 이론을 검토하였다. 이론적 검토를 통해 ‘문지방 개념’의 필요성을 입증하고, 대학원 유학생이 완성한 학위논문을 분석해서 반복적으로 발견되는 특정 유형의 오류 양상을종합하였다. 그리고 이 내용에 기초해서 ‘수사학’, ‘텍스트성’, ‘인식론’, ‘글쓰기 과정’ 의 4가지로 거시적 문지방 개념을 도출하고, 교육적 함의를 제시하였다. 본 연구는 대학원 유학생이 혼자 학위논문을 쓸 때, 그리고 교수자가 피드백을 해줄 때, 학습 전이를 높일 수 있는 문지방 개념을 도출했다는 점에서 의의가 있을 것이다.
This study presupposes that there are insufficient textbooks and course for In ternational Graduate Students to refer to when writing theses, and as a solution, review the characteristics and status of ‘Threshold Concepts’. Through theoretical review, the necessity of Threshold Concepts was proved, and the theses completed by International Graduate Students was analyzed to classify certain types of errors that are repeatedly found. Based on this discussion, four macroscopic Threshold Concepts are presented. These concepts are ‘rhetoric’, ‘textuality’, ‘epistemolo gy’, and ‘writing process’. This study is meaningful because it presents threshold concepts that improve learning transfer when international graduate students write their theses alone and instructors provide feedback.
